PreSonus Studio One

PreSonus Studio One brought modern design to the DAW landscape. Built by developers from the original Cubase and Nuendo teams, it incorporates decades of experience without inheriting technical debt. The result is a fast, intuitive workflow that became a favourite among producers and mixing engineers.

Drag-and-Drop Everything

The drag-and-drop philosophy extends throughout Studio One. Drag audio to create tracks, drag effects to insert them, drag loops into arrangements. What other DAWs accomplish through menus and dialogs, Studio One handles with direct manipulation. This approach reduces the steps between having an idea and hearing it.

Integrated Mastering

The Project Page (Professional tier) provides a dedicated mastering environment within Studio One. Master your songs, sequence an album, and apply processing — all with automatic updating from your mix sessions. No export-reimport cycle needed.

Scratch Pads

Scratch Pads let you try arrangement ideas without disturbing your main session. Experiment with a different chorus or bridge, then drag the winning version back into your arrangement. It's version control for musical ideas.

Current Status

Studio One was rebranded as Fender Studio Pro in early 2026 following the Fender/PreSonus acquisition. The current version is Studio Pro 8, available as a single Professional tier (the free Prime and Artist tiers were discontinued with version 7 in late 2024).
