iZotope Neutron is a channel strip suite that brings AI-assisted processing to individual track mixing. Where Ozone handles the master bus, Neutron works on every channel in your session with intelligent analysis and inter-plugin communication.

Processing Modules

The module set covers core mixing needs: a 12-band parametric EQ with spectral display, multiband compressor with up to three crossover points, transient shaper for attack and sustain control, gate for cleaning up noise and bleed, and exciter for adding harmonic content. The Sculptor module provides intelligent tonal shaping — select an instrument type (vocals, guitar, bass, drums) and it applies corrective EQ and dynamic processing based on analysis of the incoming signal.

Mix Assistant and Unmask

Mix Assistant analyzes your track, detects the instrument type, and suggests a complete processing chain with initial settings based on the musical context. The suggestions serve as informed starting points that you refine to taste — it handles the routine decisions so you can focus on creative ones. Unmask identifies frequency conflicts between tracks running Neutron instances and suggests EQ cuts to reduce masking, showing you exactly where instruments fight for space.

Inter-Plugin Communication

When multiple Neutron instances run across a session, they communicate with each other. The Visual Mixer displays all your Neutron-tracked channels in a spatial layout for adjusting level and panning. Relay (included) enables gain, pan, and width adjustments that Neutron can control across tracks.
