The Casio Privia PX-560 bridges the gap between stage piano and workstation. With 650 tones powered by Casio's AiR sound engine and Hex Layer technology borrowed from the flagship PX-5S, it delivers expressive grand piano sounds alongside a massive library of instruments.
Key Action
The 88-key Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II uses three sensors per key for accurate detection of repeated notes and nuanced dynamics. Scaled weighting — heavier in the lower register, lighter in the upper — mimics acoustic piano feel. Simulated ebony and ivory textured key surfaces provide realistic grip during performance.
Sound Engine
Casio's AiR (Acoustic and Intelligent Resonator) engine models the complex behaviour of acoustic pianos including string resonance, damper simulation, and hammer response. Beyond piano, Hex Layer technology allows stacking up to 14 sounds across four zones simultaneously, creating massive layered textures for live performance.
The 650 tones cover grand pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, brass, guitars, synths, basses, and more. The 220 built-in rhythms with auto-accompaniment add a backing band when you need it.
Performance Features
The 5.3-inch colour touchscreen makes navigating sounds, editing layers, and managing settings intuitive. A 17-track MIDI recorder captures ideas on the spot. Four speakers (2 × 12cm + 2 × 5cm) deliver 16W of total output — enough for practice and small performances without external amplification.
Connectivity
USB audio/MIDI, traditional MIDI I/O, line out, headphones, and audio input cover all integration needs. The PX-560 works as a USB audio interface for recording directly into a DAW.
