Six operators arranged in 32 algorithms faithfully recreate the DX7's digital character. The FM synthesis engine produces everything from glassy electric pianos and tubular bells to harsh metallic textures and evolving pads. Improved Interface

The DX7 was notorious for its single-slider, button-heavy programming interface. Dexed lays out all six operators with their envelopes, levels, and ratios visible simultaneously. Drag envelopes visually instead of entering numbers. This alone makes FM synthesis more approachable than it ever was on the original hardware.

Cartridge Manager

The built-in cartridge manager organises patches into banks, making it easy to browse and load sysex files. Import entire cartridge dumps from the DX7 community — there are tens of thousands of patches available for free online, covering every genre and era.
