Reveal Sound Spire is a polyphonic synthesizer that became essential in trance, progressive house, and uplifting EDM. Its ability to create massive unison leads and stacks made it a staple alongside Sylenth1 and Serum.
Four Oscillators, Seven Modes
Each of the four oscillators offers seven synthesis modes: Classic (standard waveforms), Noise, FM, AMSync, SawPWM, HardFM, and Vowel. Classic mode alone covers saw, square, triangle, sine, and variants. Each oscillator supports up to 9-voice unison with independent spread, detune, and density controls. Stack all four oscillators in unison mode and the result is the massive supersaw walls that define modern trance.
Filters and Shaping
Two multimode filters provide around 24 types including low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, ladder, diode, comb, phaser, and formant variations. Filters can run in serial or parallel routing. The Shaper module between oscillators and filters adds waveshaping distortion — from subtle harmonic enhancement to aggressive mangling — giving sounds an edge before they even reach the filter stage.
Modulation and Effects
Four envelopes, four LFOs, and a step sequencer feed into the modulation matrix for routing to any parameter. LFOs sync to host tempo with multiple waveform shapes. The built-in effects chain includes chorus, phaser, delay, reverb, EQ, and the Shaper, providing enough processing that many producers use Spire with minimal external plugins.
Who Is This For?
Spire suits producers making energetic electronic music:
- Trance producers needing massive leads, plucks, and supersaw stacks
- EDM and progressive house producers building driving, layered tracks
- Sound designers exploring seven oscillator modes for varied timbres
- Sylenth1 users wanting more oscillators and deeper modulation
- Preset browsers exploring a large third-party preset ecosystem
For wavetable and modern bass design, Serum is more flexible. For trance-style sounds and powerful unison stacks, Spire delivers.
