The Sequential Trigon-6 Desktop Module is the tabletop version of Sequential's flagship ladder-filter polysynth — same six-voice engine, same three VCOs per voice, same switchable 2/4-pole ladder filter, just without the keys. For studio producers and those who already have a controller keyboard, it's the more practical way to get the Trigon-6 sound on your desk.
The synthesis engine is identical to the keyboard version. Three VCOs per voice with triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, and variable-width pulse waveforms, all simultaneously selectable. Hard sync between oscillators 1 and 2 for aggressive timbres, oscillator 3 in low-frequency mode as a second LFO, and the same drive and feedback controls on the ladder filter. The 2-pole mode opens things up; the 4-pole closes them down with that characteristic warmth.
Poly Mod — Sequential's signature modulation system inherited from the Prophet-5 — routes oscillator 3 and the filter envelope to pitch, pulse width, and filter cutoff. It's a compact but deep routing system that rewards experimentation. The five-waveform LFO with eight destinations and sync capability covers everything from gentle vibrato to rhythmic filter sweeps.
Onboard effects are the same as the keyboard model: stereo analog distortion plus digital reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, phase shifter, and ring modulator. The 64-step polyphonic sequencer and arpeggiator are both present. 500 factory and 500 user programs carry over in full.
The compact form factor — 22 inches wide and under 11 lbs — makes this considerably easier to fit into a crowded studio than the full keyboard. Poly chain means two modules can be linked for 12-voice polyphony, making it a natural pair with a second unit or the keyboard version.
Who Is This For?
The Trigon-6 Desktop Module is for producers and studio musicians who want the full Trigon-6 experience without the keyboard footprint. If you play from a controller or a DAW, or just need the sound engine in a rack-friendly format, this is the more practical choice — and at a lower price than the keys version, it's an easier entry point to Sequential's modern analog lineup.
