The Elektron Digitakt II doubles down on everything that made the original a modern classic. Sixteen freely assignable tracks replace the original's fixed 8+8 split — any track can run the internal sampling engine or external MIDI, giving you complete flexibility in how you build your patterns.
Sampling Power
With 400MB of RAM (up from 64MB) and 20GB of internal storage (up from 1GB), the Digitakt II handles serious sample libraries. Stereo sampling joins the original's mono-only capability, with each sample supporting up to 66 seconds of stereo audio. Record at 48kHz/24-bit from the inputs, resample internally, or load samples via USB.
The Sequencer
The sequencer remains the heart of the machine. Each track gets up to 128 steps (doubled from 64), with individual pattern lengths and time scale multipliers per track. Elektron's parameter locks let every step have unique values for any parameter — pitch, filter, effects, sample start point. Conditional trigs add probability and logic. Micro-timing shifts notes off the grid for human feel. Song Mode chains patterns into complete arrangements.
Effects and Sound Shaping
Every track has its own dedicated effects: delay, reverb, chorus, overdrive, bit reduction, and sample rate reduction. Swappable multimode filters per track cover low-pass, high-pass, comb, EQ, and more. The analog-modelled filter and overdrive add warmth that keeps things from sounding sterile.
Integration
Overbridge streams all 16 tracks as individual audio channels into your DAW for multitrack recording. USB audio and MIDI keep the setup simple. The compact form factor (215 × 176 × 63 mm) fits any setup.
