Native Instruments Reaktor 6 is a modular software synthesizer and sound design platform that lets you build custom instruments from scratch or modify existing ones. It provides unlimited sound design possibilities through visual programming, where you connect building blocks to create anything from simple effects to complex polyphonic synthesizers.

Core Architecture

Reaktor operates at two levels. The Primary level gives you high-level building blocks — oscillators, filters, envelopes, sequencers — that snap together quickly. The Core level drops down to the sample-by-sample signal processing layer, where you can build custom DSP from basic math operations. Most users never need Core, but it's there when factory modules aren't enough.

The Blocks Framework

Reaktor Blocks turns the platform into a virtual modular synthesizer. Pre-built modules — oscillators, filters, sequencers, utilities — patch together with virtual cables just like hardware Eurorack. It's the most accessible way into Reaktor and produces results quickly.

Factory Content

Over 70 instruments and effects ship with Reaktor 6, including classics like Monark (Minimoog emulation), Lazerbass, and Prism. The User Library adds thousands more community-built instruments, many of them free. Reaktor Player loads these instruments without requiring the full version.
